Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowl

Happy #nationalchocolateday ! Be sure to send this one to your chocolate-loving friends!

We thought we'd celebrate with a smoothie so good, it tastes like a chocolate milkshake! This is a recipe the whole family will absolutely love! An easy way to sneak in some protein and fruit for those picky eaters out there! Or, consider switching out sugary desserts for this healthier, yet equally yummy option! We also love this as a special breakfast option! Such a treat to eat something that tastes like a chocolate milkshake for breakfast!

Enjoy!

🖤Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowl 🖤

Serves 4

• 4 frozen bananas, sliced
• 2 Cups almond milk or water
• 3 Tbsp natural peanut butter
• 3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 Cup pitted dates, chopped*
• 2 Tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
• 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Optional toppings:
• Shredded unsweetened coconut
• Cocoa powder
• Banana slices
• Crushed peanuts
• Maple-Peanut drizzle (Whisk together equal parts natural peanut butter and pure maple syrup, with a sprinkle of sea salt and a pinch of ground cinnamon)
• Chocolate sauce (see black bean brownies recipe!)

1. Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth. Add more almond milk or water 1 Tbsp at a time if smoothie is too thick (depending on size of bananas, it can sometimes be very thick).
2. Pour smoothie in small bowls 3/4 of the way full.
3. Add desired toppings! Get creative!

Enjoy, friends! ☕🍪🌿
