Mexican Spice Blend

It's the last day of February so we thought we would squeeze in one more "red themed" recipe. This is the only Mexican Spice Blend you will ever need. It's so much better than the Tex Mex Spice you buy at the store & this recipe yields a big batch so you can use it in a handful of meals before you need to make more. We cook with  this blend weekly in our home (Taco Tuesday anyone?) & will be sharing a recipe featuring this mix very soon!

Warning: it does have a bit of a kick so cut back a bit on the chili powder (& leave out the cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes) if you wish. Enjoy!




🖤 Mexican Spice Blend 🖤
  • 2 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 4 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together & store in an airtight container (we love mason jars).
